In this installment, she is trying, unsuccessfully, to deal with her father dating a much younger woman. Hayley and her family live above a tea and cake shop, the result of her parent's recent divorce. What really sets this apart, though, is the solid storyline and plot. The formatting of the book, with a recipes for unique cupcake at the end of each chapter, is fun. The covers are fantastic and eye-catching. (Fun fact: The recipes were created by the author's sister, Zo Recipes for cupcakes, frosting, and other baked goods are sprinkled throughout the books. But more importantly, this series has just the right mix of ingredients for tween readers: a thoughtful, considerate protagonist, distinct characters, each with their own flavor, fun times, steady pacing, and a pinch of secrets. If you have a sweet tooth, you'll probably wish that Michael Frost's photo covers were as edible as the wallpaper in Willy Wonka's factory. All the while, Hayley continues to enjoy baking, whipping up batches of cupcakes at home and in her grandmother's café, The Tea Room. Meanwhile, watching her divorced parents date other people is even stranger. I loved this book so much and I think other people should read it too.Lisa Papademetriou's sweet series Confectionately Yours continues in book #2, Taking the Cake! Hayley is having a hard enough time figuring out whether or not her ex-best friend Artie is still her friend, but when the two girls have a crush on the same guy, it makes things even more confusing. She puts the recipes on the book and they are interesting recipes. She makes many different cupcakes that you wouldn't even heard of. The only way to make Hayley happy is baking. In the book their are a bunch of twists and things go wrong with her friends. Her grandma works in a bakery and upstairs is wear they live. Hayley moves to her grandmas with her sister and her mom and her dad. My favorite character was the main character Hayley. more so that is the question why?i liked this book with the passion i have i really do and that what i got to say

well he goes off,but not alone and not with her.

she likes this guy in a way he likes her to and what i don't get is the ending but tell me if im wrong but i thought it was happy ending kind of thing. taking on the cake probably means taking on the fears and what not so that it is very relatable. Review 1: my thoughts in this book was that it was a page turner and the characters are always on Hayley's side through it all many adventures happen considering the fact that Artie mostly starts them by all the envy that rages with in her but shes not the subject what i what to point out is that in my concept of questions well i only read this one amazing book and it describes what it is really like to lose your best friend and how it is in a way Artie has sabbatashed many kinds of styles.
